Membership Intern*

(posted 12-13-10)

We are looking for a detail oriented person with good people and communication skills. This person must be self-motivated and have access to a computer with internet. The position includes computer work such as managing membership records, renewal notices, and establishing member numbers, and will coordinate with many aspects of UHC including fundraising, marketing, and staff. As the position includes advertising and encouraging membership, it will be helpful if this individual could attend the majority of our monthly lectures where many of our new contacts are made. This creative individual will help us expand our member benefits and streamline membership management. The membership manager is an internship position that involves 6-8 hours per week, January - June 2011 with the potential to become a permanent position.

Though not required, we would like our membership manager to come to our events, be involved in our projects, and have an overall interest in UHC’s mission. UHC is currently an all-volunteer organization working out of our own homes, and occasionally we organize a casual ‘work night’ about once a month as small groups or committees to work face to face.

Please email resume and any descriptions of past work and experience to Anna Glenn

Please call Mike Repkin (773-791-1131) if you’re interested in getting involved! Volunteering takes place at Northside College Prep High School, 5501 N. Kedzie Ave.

PLEASE NOTE: It is our intent to review each application as it arrives and respond as quickly as possible. Your diligence in staying in contact is appreciated! - Anna Glenn (acting Board President) and Breena Ferguson

*UHC is an all-volunteer organization and although the benefits of working with us are many, all positions and openings are unpaid.
